Using wxWindows 2.4.0 under VC++ 6 it seams that wxTextCrtl is not derived from streambuf. Compiling something like:

wxTextCtrl* ptc = new wxTextCtrl(...);
ostream foo(ptc);

gives the compiling error that ptc cannot be converted to basic_streambuf.

I have compile wxWindows with the standard settings and see (with my limited knowledge) no reason for wxTextCtrl NOT to be derived from streambuf.

What am I missing? Anyone?
