anybody an answer of this question.
I only found functions to create, close, open, read and write files, but i didn't find a function which returns the size of a file.

stat / wxStat seems to be better, but could not find ANYTHING in the documentation. is it an undocumentet wxFile function? Any more information could be helpful!

wxWindows wrapped many standard functions to better interface with wxWindows, for instance, with wxString, unicode, etc. You can search header files in include directory for their definitions. | 5. int result,size;
wxString cur_file;
....
result = wxStat( cur_file, &buf );
if (result != 0 ) size = -1; // file is unknown => has no size
else size = buf.st_size;
