When I try to add a menu using the resource editor's add menu form I get an INVALID INDEX error message when I click on OK. Can someone give me a simple start in filling out this form.

Resource editor? Build into Dev-C++??
Well, to me it seems like you're using a pretty old version of Dev-C++ (must be 4.01), because newer and recent versions don't have a build-in resource editor any more. Maybe you should update your Dev-C++ to version 4.9.8.4 which is the current release and use an external resource editor instead.

If you do use an external editor and the error happens there, please post the name and version so we can check.
