1. wxString errors

guys i;m using wxWindows 2.4.2 for Linux/GTK and when i try to compile any program ( even the famous hello world program ) i get the following error

.... cannot convert const char[12] to wxString .....

ambigous class wxString ........

whats the error

any 1 please help me here !!
